Privacy policy
A static reading site with no accounts, no forms and no comments. Here is exactly what is involved.
Who is responsible
Scannethub (scannethub.biz) is edited by SABELLE, CLAUDINE, CATHERINE, JEANNE ALARY. Privacy questions go to editor@scannethub.biz.
What we do not collect
There are no user accounts, sign-ups, newsletters, comment sections or contact forms on this site. We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details, and we do not sell or rent data to anyone.
Hosting: Cloudflare
The site is a set of static pages served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the service from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time of the request. This is handled under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy; we do not use it to identify visitors.
Fonts: Google Fonts
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Your browser therefore connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and user agent. Google states that it does not use Google Fonts requests to build advertising profiles.
Advertising measurement: Google Ads
When enabled, the site loads the Google Ads tag (gtag.js). It lets us measure whether visitors who arrive from our Google ads go on to read a page or follow a link to a vendor. Google may set cookies or use similar identifiers for this, including the click identifier (gclid) added to ad links. Only while the tag is enabled, clicking an “Official site” link to a vendor sends an outbound_click event to Google (which product, and the vendor address you went to). The link itself goes straight to the vendor’s site; there is no intermediate page and no tracking parameters are added to it. Google processes this data under its own privacy terms. You can limit ad personalization in your Google account’s ad settings, and browser tracking protection or ad blockers will generally stop the tag entirely; the site works normally either way.
Stored in your browser
If you use the Night / Paper switch, your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under the key ci-theme. It never leaves your device. The cookie notice lists everything in one place.
If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to act on corrections, keep it no longer than needed for that, and never add it to a list. Mail for scannethub.biz is routed by Cloudflare Email Routing to the editor’s mailbox.
Outbound links
Vendor websites we link to have their own privacy practices. Once you leave Scannethub, their policies apply.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Because we hold almost none, most requests concern email correspondence; write to us and we will handle it. Requests about data held by Cloudflare or Google should go to those companies.
Changes
If we add or change a third-party service, this page is updated first, with a new effective date.
